The difference of understanding: The U. S team feels that there instructions are not properly followed. If the Indian team is described of a deadline, such is never fulfilled. On the contrary, Indian team argues that the instructions are not properly conveyed. So that they could understand and deliver.
The Turnover: The U. S time finds exhausting, the turnover at Indian chapter. It creates disturbances and confusion. The Indian team is finding it difficult to adjust with the U. S work values hence move as soon as the opportunity is available.
National culture and organization culture play a dominant role in this conflict. The conflict is more evident from the side of Indian Team. There is a whole difference in American and Indian culture. As the American team holds a dominant position in this relation, the Indian team is finding it difficult to synchronize with American working values. One such example is standing calls at those time intervals at which majority of India is having a sleep. Same is the case with visits or meetings in time that are considered to be celebration days. Diwali is one of the largest feasts and celebration day in India. Imagine everyone doing a firework or lighting candles in traditional Indian Kurta Shalwar, and a GFAC analyst going to the office wearing his suit and holding his briefcase. This all creates a sense of cultural conflicts.
The intervention steps have to be taken at both sides.
The U. S team has to recognize Indian culture, their social standings, their competence level, individuality and their risk taking ability.
The Indian Team has to understand Company values, long term objectives, U. S working culture and professionalism.
Adaptability is required at both sides.
